Translation is not a matter of words only: it is a matter of making intelligible a whole culture.

A closer look at Professional Translation

The professional translation process I follow includes a number of steps, starting with getting to know your company and what you do.

I take the time to ask questions, and to understand: Why are you having the text translated? Why has the document been drafted? What is its purpose? Who is your target audience?

Briefly, my process comprises the following steps:

  1. Rough draft in English

  2. Cross check between the original French and my text in English

  3. Revision of the English text for readability and flow

  4. Internal QA

  5. Final review

*On some projects, or upon request, my quote may include review and editing with one of my translation partners.

That’s why it’s not reasonable to expect to obtain a quality translation with one click of the mouse.
